Dear Students,

I'm passing along some news and a photo from NEIU physics alumnus
Steven Won. Steven was admitted to the Ph.D. program at
Northwestern after his graduation from NEIU. He is working
on CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid) this summer. This is one of the
detectors for the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at CERN.
I've included some links to CMS information below. Steve's not
follows.

They're moving the slices of the detector, made for a good picture.

I'm working hard out here, although it's not what I thought it would be.
I'm doing almost exclusively software work. The software for CMS is
really, surprisingly difficult to use/write for. I guess that's what
happens when you get a huge collaboration doing it.

Working on some cool physics. Trying to write a trigger for use in the
search for long-lived R-hadrons that decay inside the detector, but with
longer (>1ms) lifetimes.
