Preparing for Grad School: 

Rescuing Lapses in Academic and Research Preparations 

(Undergraduate and Graduate students)

So you would like to go to graduate school but feel that a less than
optimal GPA and/or your limited/poor research experience will keep you
from being considered for the more professionally attractive programs?
This workshop will help you to realistically look at where you are now
and develop strategies to successfully address your weaknesses in
preparation for admission into competitive graduate programs and
completion of the Ph.D.

 



 

Presenter: Anthony DePass, Ph.D.

Dr. DePass is the Associate Dean of Research and Associate Professor of
Biology at the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University, the urban
campus of the 7th largest private university in the Unites States. 
Originally trained as a plant biologist, Dr. DePass currently directs a
funded research program that explores cancer related gene regulation. 
His laboratory provides training for students at the high school,
undergraduate, and masters levels, and has consistently placed students
(many from underrepresented minorities in the sciences) in competitive
doctoral programs.
