Dear Colleague,

I am writing to inform you of two internships the Adler Planetarium is
offering to undergraduate students. These Illinois Space Grant
Consortium funded internships will be for a period of 8 weeks this
summer. Interns will work with Adler staff to help design systems for
"Far Horizons", our high-altitude, near-space ballooning program for
high school students, undergraduate interns and adult members. The
interns would be involved in the development of subsystems including
payload structures, recovery system, avionics, power distribution and
telemetry. We expect to fly the student projects in multiple missions
reaching 90-110,000 feet.

We will be offering a stipend of $400/week. The selected interns must be
US citizens and have a permanent residence in the Chicago metropolitan
area.

Further details can be found in the attached flyer.

We hope that you will be able to assist us by publicizing these
internships with your students. We feel that this hands-on experience
would be of great value to engineering or physical sciences students.

Sincerely,

Geza Gyuk
