Quantum Field Theory III

Course Description
QFT-3: The third quarter of the quantum field theory sequence. Topics include: The discrete symmetries C,P,T,CP and the violation of C,P, and CP. Standard Model phenomenology and precision tests of the standard model. The parton model and deep inelastic scattering. Anomalies, anomaly cancellation, instantons and sphalerons. Solitons and topological objects in field theory. Field Theory at non-zero temperature. Phase transitions in field theories. Non perturbative methods, Lattice field theory. Physics beyond the standard model: supersymmetry, grand unification and other topics.
