The Presidential Scholarship is Northeastern Illinois University's most prestigious first year
(full time entering freshman students) award and covers the cost of tuition, fees and
books for a maximum of four years as long as the recipient earns a GPA of at least 3.25.
Applicants must achieve a minimum ACT of 27 and submit application.

NEIU Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships
Awarded to a transfer student who is a member of Phi Theta Kappa,
has a minimum of 3.0 GPA and an A.A. or A.S. degree.
Out-of-state students, part-time students, students with previous bachelor's degrees, and non-US citizens who
are not a permanent resident are not eligible. New awards will not be awarded until current recipients have
completed additional 60 credit hours at NEIU. The student must enroll immediately following completion of two-year college.
Verification and recommendation from a Phi Theta Kappa adviser are required.

NEIU Foundation Awards
Sherman P. Appel Scholarship
Awarded to an incoming freshman who's academic record is at the level required
for acceptance into the University Honors Program. Recipients may re-apply for
this scholarship provided they maintain a GPA of 3.25 or higher

A. & E. Kaplan Scholarship
Awarded to a combination of returning students and first-time students
who each have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Students must demonstrate in
narrative form why the scholarship is needed. Both part time and full time
students are eligible. Established by the A. & E. Kaplan foundation.
Class Gift Scholarship
Awarded to outstanding part or full time NEIU graduate and undergraduate students.
Endowed by members of NEIU's graduating classes since 1996. This fund continues to grow
each year through donations from graduating seniors

AMP Scholarships (Alliance for Minority Participation)
The Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program is designed to
develop the comprehensive strategies necessary to strengthen the preparation and increase
the number of minority students who successfully complete baccalaureates in science,
technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. This objective facilitates
the long-term goal increasing the production of Ph.Ds in STEM fields with an emphasis on
entry into into faculty positions.
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation provides scholarships of up to $50,000 for a maximum of six
years for students who wish to pursue graduate studies. NEIU can submit two nominations to the foundation
for a Cooke Scholarship. The minimum eligibility requirements include a GPA of 3.5 or higher and senior status.
Forms are available at the Grauate College Office, the Honors/McNair Office, the Placement Office, and the Dean's office.
Federal Work Study
Undergraduate and graduate. Enrolled full or part-time.
Eligibility of students is determined by approved needs-analysis methods.
Must be enrolled in a degree program. Must complete FAFSA.
